Sometimes talking through an issue is the way forward. It can often be hard to get the space to be able to express one’s self out loud and try out different ideas without consequences. In everyday life we are usually having to balance other people’s needs with our own and often the people closest to us become hard to talk to for fear of causing upset or damage to the relationship. It might be that you have things that you need to talk through but there never seems to be time for you. It may be that you are able to talk to people but don’t want the problem to be something that is an on-going topic of conversation between you. Problems can go round and round in one’s head with seemingly limited solutions which become exhausting and can lead to low mood. Being able to talk freely and then leave the information when you walk out the door can be amazingly freeing and supportive, increase feelings of connectedness and allow you time for yourself. I offer straightforward person centered counselling but have skills in a variety of therapeutic interventions if you decide that a more targeted approach would be helpful. |
