What I Do

I offer psychological treatments that promote change and freedom from issues that get in the way of making the most of life. These difficulties may come in the form of distressing past experience or may be more the result of personality and habit.

Cognitive Hypnotherapy can be used to treat anxiety based issues and phobias.  It is also an effective way to manage pain, prepare for childbirth and is recommended for irritable bowel syndrome. Weightloss, eating related problems, smoking cesation and other habit disorders are also responsive to hypnotherapy.

Treatment for trauma (EMDR). Traumas maybe serious significant negative life events such as suffering a sexual assault, domestic violence, being the victim of a crime or being involved in a car crash. However traumas can also be things that have had a negative impact such as a particularly critical comment from a teacher or careless remark from a lover that have left a scar on us. EMDR works on lifting the damage that these traumas have caused so that they no longer hold any power.

Life coaching is a collaborative process in which the client and the coach work on establishing a clear objective. A plan is created and goals are clarified. Life coaching is great for managing change and personal development.

Counselling is an opportunity for talking and working through an issue or a feeling . It can help the individual make sense of situations or experiences. This in turn can help to break long standing patterns of behaviour that while functional at one time may no longer be useful. It’s good to talk!
